Get to Know the Alpha Mare
We take an exceptional amount of pride in our Alpha Mare wines. That is because we take an extraordinary amount of care while producing them. With super small production levels, we can scrutinize every detail that goes into these wines.
We laboriously barrel-ferment our Alpha Mare Red, a co-fermentation of Cabernet Sauvignon with a bit of Malbec, Petit Verdot, and Petite Sirah. This intensifies color, improves oak integration and creates complexity. We make our Alpha Mare White to age, modeled after the white wines of Bordeaux, this wine is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc clones and aged an extra year in special light-toast barrels from the Bertrange forest in France. This gives the wine exceptional depth and complexity.

"...the deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Alpha Mare is youthful with black and red currants, underbrush and black pepper notes plus wafts of bay leaves and cedar.
